Coming soon

These resources have been created from my own lived experience as a parent, with the hope of sharing what I’ve learned, helping other families feel less alone, and making the journey with ARFID a little easier to navigate.

Resources

ARFID School Passport

A practical resource to help parents share important information about their child’s ARFID with school staff.

Includes information about:

  • Sensory sensitivities

  • Fear of negative consequences

  • Lack of interest in food

  • How ARFID may present in school

  • How food may need to be prepared or presented

  • Individual support needs and helpful strategies

ARFID Lunch Box Sign

A simple sign that can be printed and laminated and placed on a child’s lunch box to help school staff understand that they may have specific foods they can safely and comfortably eat.

Two options are included in the download:

  • ARFID – for children with a confirmed ARFID diagnosis.

  • Restrictive Eating / ARFID – for children experiencing restrictive eating difficulties who may not have a formal ARFID diagnosis.

Both versions are designed to help reduce assumptions around a child’s food choices and encourage greater understanding and support at lunchtime.

How to Use

Download and print the A4 sheet, which includes both lunch box sign options. Choose the sign that best suits your child, then cut it out and place it in their lunch box, or laminate it for extra durability.

A Note for Parents & Schools

Every child with ARFID is different, and what works for one child may not work for another. These resources have been created from lived experience to support understanding, communication and compassion around food and mealtimes.

They are intended as practical resources to help families and schools work together to understand a child’s individual needs. If you are concerned about a child’s eating, nutritional needs or wellbeing, please seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

You are not alone. Understanding can make a difference.
