I'm not a charity or a large organisation, I'm just a mum whose family's experience with ARFID led me to start raising awareness.
ARFID Life UK was created when I felt completely alone, misunderstood, and overwhelmed by endless research, trying to make sense of what our family was going through. I couldn't find the support or information I desperately needed, so I created the kind of space I wish had existed for us.
I don't have all the answers, and I don't pretend to. But if sharing our journey, and everything I've learned along the way can help another family feel less alone, then that's exactly why I'm here.
Whether you're a parent, a professional, or someone living with ARFID, I'm so glad you've found your way here.

Our Story
People often say, "All children are fussy eaters," and for a while, I wondered if that was true. But from the beginning of our weaning journey with my son, Arlo, I knew something felt different.
Arlo wasn't simply refusing food; he was struggling with it. Sensory differences, strong food reactions, and challenges around textures and eating showed us there was more going on than picky eating.
After years of researching, advocating, and searching for answers, we discovered ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Finally having a name for what we were experiencing brought understanding, but finding the right support was still a challenge.
Our journey has taken us through diagnosis, ongoing advocacy, and eventually to tube feeding, with Mr G becoming part of our lives. It has been a journey of learning, adapting, and understanding Arlo's needs.
I created ARFID Life UK because I want other families to know they are not alone. To trust their instincts, find support, and know that their child deserves to be understood.
Raising Awareness
Since sharing our family's ARFID journey, I've had the privilege of helping raise awareness of this often misunderstood eating disorder across the UK.
Through television, national and local media, public speaking and podcasts, I've used our lived experience to educate families, professionals and the wider public about ARFID, while advocating for better understanding and support.
